it was the summer of 1957 and On the way back home from a trip to taking some photos of North Carolina’s segregated beaches for JET magazine, Cecil J. Williams, a photographer from North Carolina, got thirsty. So he and his friend pulled over to a gas station that happened to be closed and “Whites Only”.
The rest is history… Black History.
